Stan G. Smith serves as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Somerville, TN. Most recently, he served as Director of Missions at the Big Hatchie Baptist Association for eight years before accepting the pastorate of FBC, Somerville. He has served in five churches as senior pastor and two churches as support staff in Tennessee and Texas over the last 38 years. Stan has not only a heart for the local church, but for missions. While on staff at First Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, he served as a plant for a mission church in north Houston. He has led mission trips to Thailand, Ecuador, Taiwan, South Africa, Alaska and Idaho.
Stan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Master of Christian Studies from Union University in Jackson, TN.
He is married to Monica Smith and they have four children – Jamie is married to Brandon Connor & resides in Henderson, TN; Joshua, married to Lindsay & resides in Clinton, MS; Joey married to Jeannette & resides in Washington, D.C. and Jesse Smith who also resides in Washington, D.C. They also have 8 grandchildren – Molly, Anna, Kate, Cooper, Jackson, Cole, Colton and Hunter.

Ashley was born and raised in Somerville, TN. She is active in her home church at Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Laconia. She has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Ashely taught Pre-School for 8 years in Collierville and Cordova before becoming a Pre-School Director in Oakland for eight and a half years.
Ashley and her husband, Mike, have two daughters. Katelyn is 11 and Kara is 6. They both attend Fayette Academy. She feels very blessed to have this opportunity to work with the First Baptist Church staff and help spread God's Word throughout her community.
Shirley Ann Redfearn serves as Church Clerk and Financial Secretary of First Baptist Church, Somerville, TN.
Shirley retired as the County Executive Director of the Fayette County USDA - Farm Service Agency, May 3, 2017.
She has been a member of FBC since 1977. She is married to Jerry W. Redfearn and they reside in the Somerville city limits.
Ms. Redfearn is grateful for the opportunity to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at FBC and hopes to continue as long as her service pleases the church and the Lord.

Stephen joined First Baptist Church of Somerville in the summer of 2006, having served in local churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee since 1977. He is committed to equipping believers for worship and leading them in worship. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Louisiana College, a Master of Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Hartford University.
He and his wife, Kay, are natives of Vicksburg, Mississippi. They have two children: Craig, who lives in Memphis, and Lindsey, who is married to Matt and lives in Somerville, and are the parents of their grandsons, Hudson, Hayden, and Hank.

Matthew was born and raised in Somerville, TN. He and his wife, Tiffany, have 7 children. Matthew surrendered to the ministry in 2003 and graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010. He has served as student pastor, pastor, church planter and led mission trips. Matthew loves teaching and preaching the Word of God, life on life discipleship, leading mission trips, and leading students.

Valerie Griffin grew up in Somerville, TN and is happy to be back home at First Baptist Church Somerville. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis. Prior to joining the church staff in May of 2012, she worked in both public and private schools in the Memphis area.
Valerie and her husband, Jonathan, have two sons (Miller, 4 and Graham, 2). She loves having the opportunity to work with the children and families of FBC Somerville, and seeing them grow spiritually.

Bernie retired from Memphis, Light, Gas, and Water in March of 2006. Bernie has been the Facilities Manager at First Baptist Church, Somerville since March of 2006. He has taught Sunday School classes (Youth-Adults) since 1980 and played hand bells for over 10 years. He has driven the church bus for many youth trips and Senior Adult trips. He also sings in the church choir. He is the "Charlie" in "Charlie & Mary" for children's church on Sundays. Bernie takes joy in the beauty of our church grounds and facilities. After all, this is the King's House!
Born in Texas, Fern spent 20 years as an army wife, 11 years as a Pastor's wife, and 11 years as a Missionary with the Home Mission Board in Alaska.
She came to Somerville, Tennessee and joined First Baptist in 2001. She has served as Senior Adult Department Secretary, WMU Director, substitute and SS Teacher, and has assisted in maintaining music for the choir.
Fern also sings in the Sanctuary Choir, Royal Heirs Choir, and is a member of the Bell Choir. She has loved being a staff Part-time Office Worker since 2011.
